The EdgePal Sharpening System

The EdgePal is the first multitool in the world for grinding and sharpening!

The EdgePal Sharpening System is the family name of a complete system for grinding and sharpening all kinds of tools with cutting blades - especially knives and axes.

The system comprises three small devices, the Edge, the Knife and the AxePal, which work both separately and together. With the EdgePal Sharpening System all the dreams you ever had of being able to grind and sharpen your tools have now come true.

The EdgePal Sharpening System grinds and sharpens knives (including ones with triangualar blades), chisels (all kinds), joiners' and carpenters' tools (all kinds), turning tools (including ones for turning metal), axes (all kinds and sizes), hairdressers' scissors, ordinary scissors, kitchen knives, secateurs, cutting pliers, ice drills etc.

The EdgePal is a minor miracle as regards whetting angles and keeping tools in its grip. The component parts of the system (the Edge, the Knife and the AxePal) can be combined in a great variety of ways and amount to all you ever dreamed of in sharpening equipment. What was once impossible in the world of grinding and sharpening can now be done.
Dimensioned at 90 x 18 x 40mm, it will fit in your trouser pocket if need be.

If, for instance, you want a gently curved blade instead of other grinding angles or profiles, you can do so easily with the EdgePal. It's always you, not the EdgePal itself,  who determines the angle.

The EdgePal Sharpening System is devised to meet the following requirements:

Information on the component parts of the system.

The Knife

Principal function within the system: To sharpen all knife blades of different kinds.
Secondary functions: In combination with the Edge and the AxePal, to enable full  adjustment of sharpening angle from 0 - 360 degrees.

The EdgePal gives a perfect cutting edge to all knife blades of different kinds, whatever the shape pf the blade. The EdgePal Knife is a knife handle holder that is attached to the haft of the knife. Two articulated arms enable you to fix it at the correct distance from the back of the knife. Using the grinding angle screw (or AxePal) you then adjust to the grinding angle you require.

The Knife also works as a small vice (with reversible jaws) that you will find handy when working out in the woods and fields.

The Edge

Principal function within the system: The Edge is the most advanced component in the system. It can be used to set grinding angles for almost anything (apart from triangular knife blades with broad backs, which are ground and sharpened with the Knife, and axes which are dealt with by the AxePal). The Edge can deal with parallel knife blades of up to 45 cm, chisels, carpenters' tools, hairdressers' scissors and ordinary scissors, ice drills, cutting pliers etc.
Secondary functions: n combination with the Knife and the AxePal, to enable previously impossible adjustments of the grinding angle.

The EdgePal gives perfect cutting edges to all cutting tools. Everything from a razorblade to a machete can be ground and sharpened at exactly the sharpening angle you require. The Edge is an almost infinitely adjustable precision instrument, particularly when combined with the Knife or the AxePal. Nothing is impossible. We have not found any tool that we have been unable to sharpen with the Edge. Not only that, but the Edge is easy to use.

The AxePal

Principal function within the system: To deal with sharpening angles for all types and sizes of axe with magnetic heads.
Secondary functions: In combination with the Knife and the Edge, to extend the number of possible sharpening angles to the full range of 0 - 360 degrees.
The AxePal is the most flexible component in the system, and can be used in a great variety of ways, since it can be attached to the system at any point.

The AxePal will grind and sharpen any type of axe at the angle of your choice. Both curved and straight cutting edges can be sharpened, that is both ordinary axes and joiners' axes.

With the AxePal you can quickly and simply form the cutting edge you want, whether curved or straight. This is the perfect grinder and sharpener for axes. The AxePal can very well be used with both the Edge and the Knife.
